In the ten years since Eric Railsback and Justin Willett decided to turn their friendship into a winery, Lieu Dit has ascended to the top of Santa Barbara County's thriving scene of low-intervention winemaking that aims to bottle the country's more fresh, elegant side. These wines pop up on the best wine lists in many cities we visit and it was only a matter of time until we had them to offer on the Winestyr platform.
Using terms like freshness and drinkability sometimes come across as code words when you don't want to say simple or plain. Not here, though. Lieu Dit's wines seek to capture less of what you think these grapes "should" taste like and more of what they "can" taste like in Santa Barbara. Freshness and drinkability here mean that these wines may thrive with food and consideration, but they don't require it.
