The Gros Ventre 2022 High Country White wine is a lovely blend of 40% Chenin Blanc, 32% Grenache Blanc, 16% Fiano, and 12% Arneis from California's high elevation El Dorado AVA. The wine is bursting with stone fruit, green apple, and has a delectable mineral backbone of crushed rock and white flowers. 90pts Vinous.
Gros Ventre winemaker, Chris Pittenger, has the kind of pedigree that should attract any kind of wine enthusiast to try, and ultimately fall in love with, his wines. Heading the winemaking at classic projects like Skinner Vineyards and Limerick Lane helped establish Chris in his place as a bit of a “whisperer” to grapes like Zinfandel and vineyards near Skinner’s outpost in the Sierra Foothills. Of course, he’s also shown a tremendous touch with Pinot Noir, sourced from some of the most celebrated sites in Sonoma and Anderson Valley.
