Winestyr Review

The 2021 Gros Ventre Grenache, made with fruit sourced from a hillside vineyard in Healdsburg, is bursting with cherry and fig with a delectable backbone of earth and spice. This Grenache is balanced and light on its feet with bright acidity and subtle minerality. This is a great wine for fans of Pinot Noir looking for something a bit different.

Gros Ventre Cellars

Gros Ventre winemaker, Chris Pittenger, has the kind of pedigree that should attract any kind of wine enthusiast to try, and ultimately fall in love with, his wines. Heading the winemaking at classic projects like Skinner Vineyards and Limerick Lane helped establish Chris in his place as a bit of a “whisperer” to grapes like Zinfandel and vineyards near Skinner’s outpost in the Sierra Foothills. Of course, he’s also shown a tremendous touch with Pinot Noir, sourced from some of the most celebrated sites in Sonoma and Anderson Valley.
