Calluna has been a long time dream for proprietor, Davide Jeffrey. His love for old world, classically styled wines began with Bordeaux and Burgundy but were solidified after drinking stunning examples from Napa Valley, Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains. The desire to create a winery of his own led David to change careers in 2001 at the age of 44 and enroll in Fresno State’s Oenology and Viticulture program. Two years later he found himself working in the cellar at Chateau Quinault l’Enclos in St Emilion for Dr. Alain Raynaud.
Calluna Vineyards, named after the botanical name for the plant Heather, is situated on a 80 acre hilltop property in Sonoma's esteemed Chalk Hill AVA. It’s there that Jeffrey staked out a vineyard from bare land, raised his kids and began making the wines he’s proud to share with you today. Calluna produces Bordeaux varietals, mainly stunning Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot based wines. Delivering tremendous value, these small-production wines are perfect for fans of old world and new world wines alike.
